Hey Teens! Are you looking for a job, part-time or full-time? Headed out to an interview? Or are you just hoping to update your resume? There are many tips and resources available to help you present the best you to the working world. Start by putting together a resume, one that shows your employers your past experiences, special skills you have or any outstanding accomplishments. You can download a sample resume at the link below. The next step involves getting a work permit (if you are between 13 and 17) if you want to get a job in Maryland. The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is the place to go for this permit. Now it’s time to search for the perfect job for you, whether it’s waiting tables at a local restaurant, helping out with paperwork at a business or even working for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Have an interview? Start by selecting a perfect professional outfit and preparing yourself for what the employer may ask. Practice answering questions about your potential employer and speaking about your strengths and weaknesses (we all have them). And, after the interview, make sure to send a thank you note, whether you get the job or not! For all these tips, links to job listings and more, visit the “Job” site of the Xtreme Teens website here: http://www.pgxtremeteens.com/For_Your_Future/Jobs.htm. Happy hunting teens and good luck!
