Want tasty, sweet and healthy goodies? Head to the Kentland Community Center in Landover tonight, from 7-10 p.m. for the Healthy Eating Workshop! The event will help teach Xtreme Teens and Preteens as well as their families all about the benefits of healthy eating and guests can even make their own smoothies! According to the Center for Disease Control, fruits and vegetables are a good source of essential vitamins and minerals, fiber and more body-friendly substances. Each meal, about half of your plate should consist of these yummy fruits or vegetables. But what if you’re not eating your fruits and veggies on a plate, but drinking it out of a cup. Mix crazy smoothies, combining peas with apples, spinach and bananas. Try your hand at smoothie making at the Healthy Eating Workshop tonight!
