Craft Fair Turns Trash Into Treasure
On Saturday, November 10, a beautiful fall day, Prince George’s craft and nature lovers attended the fourth annual Trash to Treasure Craft Fair at Watkins Regional Park. Area vendors, selling recycled, upcycled and “green” crafts displayed their products in the nature center, where there were even a few lizards, snakes and bugs on display. From local honey products to knit hats, jewelry, wood carvings and even homemade soaps, there was something for everyone at the fair, with plenty of families walking around the booths meeting the crafters. Kids were shooting paper rockets into the woods and betting each other whose would go farther and higher. Refreshments were also available for hungry shoppers. Overall, it was a fun day promoting nature, being eco-friendly and buying locally. Xtreme Teens and Preteens can even draw inspiration to make their own upcycled crafts, turning trash into treasure!
