Calling all Xtreme Teens and Preteens ready to donate for a good cause! From November 1 – 17, bring in your clean, gently worn jeans to a community center near you to help those less fortunate. The annual Teens and Jeans 2012 event, held in conjunction with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, collects jeans to distribute to area organizations and homeless shelters and ends in an exciting Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, November 17. Participating community centers include Bladensburg Community Center, Langley Park Community Center, College Park Community Center, Vansville Community Center and many more! Come out to walk the Anacostia Tributary Trail System at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park, with registration starting at 10 a.m. Enjoy live entertainment, refreshments and plenty of fun! The walk begins at 11 a.m. and you can walk one, two or even three miles, all for a good cause!
