Open Houses Combat Xtreme Teen Boredom
On Friday, October 11, community centers all over Prince George’s County opened their doors with tons of fun activities, food and giveaways that combat the buildup of boredom some teens may have been experiencing since the end of Safe Summer. Some community centers had games like water balloon toss and sports trivia while some offered haunted open houses and even a masquerade party! Teens and Pre-teens at the Beltsville Community Center had a night packed full of fun activities and games such as Xbox Kinect, disc golf and soap boat racing. They even played a rather messy game called Cheeto toss, where teens tossed Cheeto balls at their partner, who was wearing a bathing cap with whipped cream on it! Whoever got the most Cheetos to stick on their partner’s head won and the winning team got 81! Raylin Nunez, 12, and her brother Randy, 13, enjoyed playing the Xbox Kinect. Raylin’s favorite game was bowling but she also likes the “Just Dance” game. What were they most looking forward to later in the night? “Having fun!” Randy said. And there was plenty of fun activities going on at the Beltsville Community Center and many other community centers throughout the county. Expect even more fun events and activities happening soon for Xtreme Teens!
