2012 Positive Pathways Kicks Off
A fun program for pre teens every year, the 2012 Positive Pathways held its first session
last Thursday, September 20, with plenty of exciting activities for Prince George’s
Xtreme Pre Teens! This 10-week program is co-ed, and encourages Pre-Teens
ages 10-13 to get involved with recreation and learning outside of the school year.
Designed to enhance personal growth and self confidence, there is plenty to do each
week. Activites include In and Up All Night at the Theresa Banks Aquatic Center,
dance and self improvement workshops, service learning opportunities, leadership
development and even a talent showcase. Though the program fee is $50, pre-teens
learn irreplaceable life skills as well as have a blast! Three community centers in the
county hold the program: The Hillcrest Heights Community Center, the Kentland
Community Center and the Oakcrest Community Center. Setting a positive example
for the county’s Pre-Teens, the Positive Pathways program is sure to be a success
again this year! (Photo Cred: Pathways Final Event 2011 Marketa Ebert)
