Xtreme Teens and Preteens Enjoy Day of Health and Fitness
It was a day full of fun, health and fitness at the Kentland Community Center Saturday as many came out for the 4-H Youth Fitness Day! Many came out to enjoy healthy activities such as line dancing, basketball, a healthy lunch and much more! Put on by the Prince George's County 4-H program in partnership with M-NCPPC, Sisters 4 Sisters and the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, the day was designed to help prevent childhood obesity in the county. Participants had a healthy lunch: rice, chicken with peppers and onions, bean salad and a yummy Watergate salad for dessert. They also were receiving fun giveaways including a backpack and reusable water bottle. After lunch, teens and preteens learned how to play tennis, playing fun games to get the sport down. It was a day full of healthy fun, so get out and get active with your friends a family too!
