Enter a National Art Contest All About Nature!
Hey teens and preteens, are you an aspiring artist? Do you draw inspiration from nature? Want to enter a competition for a chance to win prizes? Enter the Get to Know Your Wild Neighbours National Art Contest now through November 1 to show your greatest work and get a chance to win! The Department of Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Get to Know Society to offer this great opportunity to not only explore nature, but to display your talents! All those under 19 can participate by making artwork, poetry, music, videos or photography. Now's your chance to connect with the wonderful nature of Prince George's County while also showing your creative side! Artwork will be featured in an online gallery on the Department of Parks and Recreation site and the Get to Know site. The artwork will appear in person in December as well. Winners are awarded in three categories: elementary, middle and high school, so encourage your friends and family members to enter! Frist place winners win $500, second place $300 and $150 for third place. One grand prize winner will win $1,000! So get out there and gain some inspiration from nature! Information and a link to the Get to Know website with how to apply is here: http://arts.pgparks.com/Community_Arts_Services/Artist_Resources/Get_to_Know_Your_Wild_Neighbours_National_Art_Contest.htm. Good luck Xtreme teens and preteens!
