M-NCPPC Pools are now open for summer fun!
It's official! Though it doesn't quite feel like summer outside, the official season for enjoying all the county's aquatic facilities starts today, Saturday, May 25! There are so many pools and aquatic facilites for you to enjoy this summer, with many classes and camps to keep you safe and allow for maximum pool enjoyment! There is so much to do! M-NCPPC pools offer recreational swimming, water fitness classes, swim and diving lessons as well as competitive and synchronized swim leagues. Are you a strong swimmer and want to learn to protect others? Take a class this summer to become certified to be a lifeguard at your area pool. Though aquatic facilities are open for the weekends only for now, starting June 8, they will be open seven days a week! There are a total of 12 aquatic facilites to choose from including the fun splash pool at the Rollingcrest-Chillum facility, room to swim laps at the J. Franklyn Bourne Memorial Pool in Seat Pleasant and fun slides at the North Barnaby Splash Park in Oxon HIll. Also, make sure you check out the new and improved Allentown Aquatic Facility after it's large renovation project. It's finally open this weekend! Starting on May 28, you are able to register for the free "Make a Splash" Water Safety Program. These free classes are for teens and preteens ages 6-17 at six aquatic facilites in the county. Participants will receive four water safety lessons designed to increase awareness of safety in, on, and around water and to learn how to prevent drowning.
