Are You An Animal Lover? Check Out Exciting Programs All About Them!
Hey Teens! As summer is winding down and school is about to begin, get out and learn all about animals at one of our nature facilities! From live animal shows to hiking and arts and crafts, there's so much to do for the animal lover inside all of us. Explore some nocturnal fun with the Bat and Beaver hike at the Clearwater Nature Center on Saturday, August 30th, from 7:30-9 p.m. Look for wildlife and plant life with a discover hike led by a naturalist at the Watkins Nature Center or the Jug Bay Natural Area. Enjoy a good old fashioned campfire, complete with ghost stories and s'mores at the Mount Rainier nature Center on August 23 from 7:30- 9 p.m. The Old Maryland Farm also hosts various farm and gardening workshops throughout the entire fall season! Want to volunteer with animals in the fall more directly? Sign up for the 2013 program through SMARTlink (#1144415) and then attend the orientation at the Clearwater nature Center on August 24, to learn about how you can volunteer for service learning hours.
