In the brand new, eco-friendly Southern Technical and Recreational Complex in Fort Washington, on Saturday, Jun 29, center staff was finally able to debut all that the new building has to offer to the public! Crowds came out to the grand opening, put on by the Prince George's County Executive, The Prince George's County Council and the Prince George's County Planning Board of the M-NCPPC. The beautiful new facilities has many new amenities for the whole family! There's a music recording studio and computer labs as well as a convention area and cafe space. You can participate in your favorite type of fitness activity, from weight lifting to aeorobics and even zumba! There was a zumba demonstration for the opening day, and many were dancing to get fit in the complex's gym. Teens, there's even a workout room just for you, with flat screen TVs playing Pandora music stations, a computerized boxing machine and much more. Right in the middle of the lobby is the center's climbing wall, which you can climb all the way to the top to see the green, "living" roof. The facility is a great new addition to the southern area's already awesome facilities, so go out and check out all there is to offer at the new Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex!
