Xtreme Teens and Pre Teens Trade Places With Staff
At the Columbia Park Elementary School Community Center Friday, August 24, there was a unique role reversal with plenty of late-summer fun. The teens and pre teens participating in the Friday night Xtreme Teens event got to take the place of the staff, choosing what they wanted to do for the night. And, not surprisingly, the teens chose to play basketball as a time to unwind after the start of school. Marquis Moore, 10, and Juwan Burnett, 12, were waiting their turn in the game. Whenever they join in on the fun of Trading Places, they like to play basketball and football. Burnett wasn’t thrilled that summer was over but Moore doesn’t mind school. “Math is my favorite subject,” he said. Later, the teens chose a movie said Taryn Ouzts, a staff member who had to give up the reins to the teens. Overall it was a fun night where the teens took charge and enjoyed some good, safe fun!
