BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENTCourse Frequency: Initial Assignment Working with children and adolescents with serious behavior problems is extremely challenging and can often be a very frustrating experience. Many of us use what we refer to as “behavior management,” but the meaning of this and the quality of its actual application can vary widely. In addition, many agencies have developed behavior management systems, some of which have been in place for years, but how do we know if they are working as well as they could? The purpose of this workshop is to identify the very best of what is known about behavioral interventions, how to apply these interventions in the most practical, effective, and humane ways, as well as how to produce meaningful behavioral change for even the most challenging clients in a variety of mental health and out of home settings.
