FORESTVILLE, MD— The Center for the Visual and Performing Arts will host its third annual audition workshop for Prince George’s County students who wish to learn how to best audition into the high school visual and performing arts programs. Workshops will be offered for students interested in learning how to audition for visual art, dance, theatre, TV production, vocal music as well as all symphonic band and orchestral musical instruments.
Workshops will commence promptly January 18, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Annex building of Suitland High School located at 5200 Silver Hill Road, Forestville, MD 20747. Workshops will be followed by an information Open House for those interested in learning about Suitland’s CVPA. Although all prospective CVPA applicants are encouraged to attend, students need not apply into CVPA to attend the workshops. However, all participants should be eligible to be in high school during the 2017-2018 school year. Due to the high demand and the time constraints, participants may attend only one workshop for the evening.
All are welcomed, however, space is limited therefore interested participants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to reserve space in advance via

. Participants for dance and theatre should wear clothes that facilitate movement. Dancers can wear leotards and leggings if available. Visual artists should bring sketch books and/or collection of works and wear clothing that is art materials friendly. Participants should dress comfortably and must be accompanied by an adult while on campus.
