Chanel Compton: February Artist of the Month

Meet Chanel Compton, an Artist who lives by the strong belief that art is a vehicle to connect people. She creates portraits as a way to connect not only herself to those she paints, but to connect the viewer with those that they may not stop and observe in their daily life. Compton's newest series of artwork, "Pieces of You", features a series of mixed media portraits. She deconstructs and reconstructs these portraits with layers of paper, paint, charcoal, and other materials. Compton searches for the physical and emotional elements of each person she paints; layer by layer, piece by piece. Chanel Compton's "Pieces of You" will be on display through February 27 at Harmony Hall Regional Center - 10701 Livingston Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744.
