One of the original thirteen colonies, the state of Maryland offers a myriad of unique experiences. From mountains to waterways, trails to aviation fields, and historic sites to contemporary technology buildings, the state of Maryland has something to pique your interest. We are commemorating all that the great state of Maryland has to offer in the exhibition Maryland State of Mind.
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division is calling for artists to submit two dimensional works of art that best represents the state of Maryland. The exhibition will be held at the Maryland House of Delegates for the 2016 Prince George’s County Exhibition January-April 2016.
ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to all individuals 18 years of age or older that live, work and/or have their studio in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from varying disciplines. Artists may submit a maximum of 3 artworks for consideration. All works must be original (no reproductions).
TO ENTER
Each applicant must submit an application and electronic images for consideration by the jury. The images must be fully representative of the work you plan to submit for consideration.
• A CD/DVD containing images and/ or segments of audio/video, each no longer than five minutes in duration.
• Minimum image resolution should be 300 dpi and 1400-2000 pixels on the longer dimension.
• A bio, artist statement with contact information and a list of the works submitted with titles, media, and dimensions.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND PERMISSIONS
Acceptance into the exhibition authorizes the M-NCPPC, to photograph and reproduce in any media the loans for archival, educational, and publicity purposes. Unless otherwise instructed in writing, the M-NCPPC will grant credit to the Artist as specified on the loan agreement in any labels or publications.
INSURANCE AND SALES
The M-NCPPC will insure all accepted artwork for the duration of the exhibition. The insurance rider will protect against all risks of physical loss or damage from any external cause while on location during the period of the loan.
All submitted work must be listed for sale. If your artwork is sold during the period of this loan, the M NCPPC will collect a twenty-five percent (25%) commission fee.
