Are you a singer who has built your career around communicating with your audience on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook? Are you a visual artist with a strong following you stay connected with through technology? Are you a recording artist who has found ways to use technology in studio to maximize your impact and generate buzz in an effective manner?
The College Media Arts and Communication Association, in partnership with Prince George's Community College's Student Publications Office will host the 2016 Mid-Atlantic College Media Arts and Communication Conference (MACMACC) on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. The conference will include an artist-in-residency component curated by Liberated Muse Arts Group. The effort to include artists who are using media technology effectively will connect the skills and talent of artists to the mission of the MACMACC which is to help link students and professionals to meaningful resources within an interactive and educational forum of dialogue, hands-on experiences and networking opportunities.
The MACMACC artists-in residence will begin with a meeting with the artists prior to the conference to discuss ways for the artists to engage conference-goers in meaningful ways that showcase their artistry while demonstrating their expertise in the media arts and communication. Artists-in-residence will receive a small travel stipend and will have the opportunity to market their products during the conference. Artists-in-residences will be expected to attend a training meeting prior to the conference on April 6, 2016 and will be expected to devote at least two consecutive hours of participation in the conference. To apply, submit your resume, a cover letter of interest and links to an online press kit to info@studentmediaonline.org by Jan. 1, 2016.
