The University of Maryland's Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center seeks an Associate Director for the Artist Partner Program.
Under the artistic oversight and direction of the Executive Director, the Artist Partner Program consists of the Visiting Artist Series, NextNOW Fest, Clarice Festival at Maryland Day, National Orchestral Institute, Rossborough Festival and Satellite Arts Partnerships. The curatorial staff works within a team model that is structured for learning, professional growth and mutual curatorial support. Further, it supports multi-curatorial perspectives and shared responsibility in performing arts programming that integrates performance, learning and service for communities within and around the University of Maryland. Under the supervision of the Sr. Associate Director, Artist Partner Program, the Associate Director will provide artistic guidance and curatorial perspective in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Artist Partner Program of The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. In addition, the Associate Director will be assigned primary managerial and curatorial responsibility for the NextNOW Fest, Clarice Festival at Maryland Day and the Satellite Arts Partnerships.
The Associate Director works directly with The Clarice creative team to build partner-based programs and initiatives that reflect the distinct mission of our partners as well as our shared interests. Artist commissions and residencies are created in concert with The Clarice Campus and Community Program Manager. The Associate Director assists, and at times provides oversight for the execution of Artist Partner Program residencies and campus/community engagement. This is accomplished by serving as liaison with performers and coordinating with Clarice staff, faculty and students. The Associate Director assists in stewarding relationships with donors, patrons, campus/community organizations as well as colleagues within and beyond The Clarice.
