The CrossRhodes at Bowie State Fine and Performing Arts Center
Raheem DeVaughn and Wes Felton are movements by themselves, but they are a force when they're together as The CrossRhodes. Both the sons of jazz musicians, Raheem and Wes mesh lush neo-soul crooning with socially conscious hip-hop word flow in their music, such as their recent singles, "Footprints On the Moon" and "Praying Prayers" and The Great Debate: A Country Divided mixtape. With the current state of constant social unrest, The CrossRhodes seeks to be a voice to express valid concerns affecting the Global community especially the plight of the minority community.

Speak Of Me As I Am: Shakespeare in Black America
Speak Of Me As I Am is a study of Othello through the eyes of Ira Aldridge and Paul Robeson, two of the first African Americans to play the title role. These two actors played some of Shakespeare's greatest roles and also became social advocates for equality. Both Robeson and Aldridge had to leave the United States to find fame in Europe, and eventually tackled their own personal struggles upon coming home.
Actors from Prince George's Shakespeare in the Parks perform monologues and scenes from two of Shakespeare's great tragedies Othello and Macbeth. We dig down deeper and look for what race in Shakespeare's time really was, and how we've evolved in present-day America. Come watch the performance and join the conversation with actors and director after the show.
