Yard
Open space located on the same lot with a building, structure (not including ground-level paved surfaces unless specifically noted), or use between the building, structure of use (such as outdoor storage) and the nearest lot line or street line. All required yards shall be unoccupied and unobstructed from the ground upward, except for landscaping, accessory buildings, structures, and uses as permitted elsewhere in the Zoning Ordinance.
Yard, Front
Yard extending across the width of a lot, between the front street line and the nearest part of a main building (or its enclosed or covered projection).
Yard, Rear
Yard extending across the width of a lot between the rear lot line and the nearest part of a main building (or its enclosed or covered projection).
Yard, Side
Yard between the side lot line or side street line and the nearest part of a main building (or its enclosed or covered projection), extending from the front yard to the rear yard.
